Robot Sweet Tooth: Cooking the Books #2 with Adam Christopher

Made to Kill final cover
Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Indiebound

There is something nefarious going on in the basement of The Temple of the Magenta Dragon, a high-octane Hollywood nightclub. And Raymond Electromatic, the lone employee of the Electromatic Detective Agency and the world’s last robot is just the detective to figure it out.

In his second visit to Cooking the Books, Adam Christopher talks with us about Robot Food Favorites, root beer floats, and whether or not Ray has a bottle of something stashed in his desk, in true noir fashion.

(We also manage to taunt Australia over the territorial issue of both pavlovas and flat whites. And to wax rhapsodic about Hokey Pokey ice cream.)

So pull up a chair, oil your sprockets, and get ready to process…

The ingredients for podcast #017 – Robot Sweet Tooth include:

  • Root Beer Floats
  • noodles
  • New Zealand Pavlovas
  • erased magnetic tape
  • a very firm jaw
  • Hokey Pokey ice cream
  • coffee
  • one pineapple
  • Only the best flat whites of the southern hemisphere

Adam has graciously shared Ray’s favorite root beer float recipe, below!
With thanks as always to the wonderful John DeNardo, Paul Weimer, Kristin Centorcelli and everyone at SFSignal for the time-machine to the 1960s. I promise we didn’t change much. (psst: sprockets! Great investment!)

Lightly char cinnamon stick over a gas burner. Place ice cream in a chilled tall glass. Top with root beer and Averna and garnish with burned cinnamon stick. Pour in the root beer slowly, allowing it to cascade over the ice cream, then top off until the glass is full.
